Backup your Gmail with Google Groups

Gmail is a fantastic email program and I could not live without it. I enjoy being able to check it from any computer with Internet, from my cell phone, and one day, my Blackberry.

Recently, Gmail has been flaky for some folks, with others logging in to find missing email messages.

Me, I couldn’t handle that.

I’ve been backing up my Gmail using Entourage on my Mac with pop access enabled in Gmail. That ends today.

I’ve known that Google Groups can serve as a backup for remote hosted mailing lists, and it turns out, as a solid automatic backup for gmail. I came across this article and already implemented it…

Using Google Groups to Backup Gmail

So now I worry less about losing my Gmail, and more about other things.

I worry a lot. Maybe too much. Recently I worry about Nicole, my 10 month-old daughter who is almost walking, falling or choking. I am a paranoid dad, that’s for sure.

That gets better when girls get older, right?

Right?
