I can’t find the forum post right now, but credit goes to nlowell for bringing this to my attention.
At the bottom of the Write Post page of my self-hosted WordPress blog there is a button that looks like this…

I never quite knew what it did and never gave any thought to figuring it out. When I wanted to post to my blog, I would simply type in the direct address to the admin interface and then click Write. It took a few minutes but I wasn’t worried.
Then after reading nlowell’s posting on one of Steve Hargadon’s Ning sites, I figured it out. I dragged it up to my blog’s toolbar and now there’s a button that looks like this…

If I load up to a blank new tab in Firefox and click it, I get a blank new post to begin typing in…
If I am already on a page, I get a link to that page.
This might seem silly, but I’ve been blogging for almost a year and never paid it any mind, maybe you overlooked it too!

Thanks for this tip Chris. I didn’t even know it was there. I have been using ScribeFire to send things I want to post but this button is even better.

Chris!
Thanks for the awesome heads up on this. I don’t think I’ve ever scrolled all the way down to the bottom of the page on my edublogs site. What a time saving tip this is.

Count me in the group of people who didn’t know about this either. Actually, I guess I had seen it there, but hadn’t tried it out.
Thanks for teaching me something new today!
