Twitter and friendships

Date November 23, 2007

Jen Wagner pens a poignant post about friendship and Twitter. What caught me really off guard was David Jakes’ comment.

Whoa, wake up call.

I understand the power of the network, but I also understand keeping one’s distance and not breaking the barrier between the appropriate and inappropriate in that kind of environment. Well, let’s say I understand that better now.

    Hello Chris —
    Thank you for your thoughts.
I was both touched and enlightened by DJ’s post too — as well as the other posts.
Right now, it seems to be a timely topic — and one that we can all learn from.

Ok, so I am behind in my reading of your blog BUT… Jen’s post was poignant to say the least. I have distanced myself from Twitter, Skype, etc… simply because I don’t want to give the wrong impression… in some sense I feel like I am a groupie for those I follow… yes, Chris … I am your groupie. :)
