Two quick links on Cognitive Load Theory I've been fielding lots of questions lately about Cognitive Load Theory. Here are two quick links that may be useful. First is an article talking about the practical implications of CLT on the design of learning. The second are some "recent" (as of 2003) developments regarding CLT. Happy reading! Update: I clarified the second...

Practical advice on kids and Android app development After hearing about my students' success developing an Android app, I've gotten several emails asking for more details as to how I practically worked with my kids. WordPress Plugins

I have written modified a couple of plugins for use within the edublogosphere. Here they are.

Update: Both sites are now defunct, so there is no need to download these plugins. This page will disappear soon, but the code is available for anyone that might want it to remix.

So this is no big feat. I tool the Sol-Digg plugin and modified it to work with Will Richardson’s EdBlogger News. This plugin is designed to help support the edublogosphere writ large.

It adds a link at the bottom of each post (or wherever you like) that simply says Share on EdBlogger News and mimics their bookmarklet. It automatically fills the URL and Title using WordPress hooks. Please use and redistribute it at will, I am releasing it under the GNU/GPL license and without warranty. Here is my first true contribution to the open source world.

Download –> EdBlogger_Submit

Based on the same code as the EdBloggerNews Plugin, this plugin allows you to place a submit link automatically beneath each post. It has only been tested on WordPress 2.0.4 & 2.0.5. It is issued under the GNU/GPL license and offered as/is with no warranty.

Let me know what you think!

Jokingly more than anything, I give credit where credit is due. You can see this in action below each post. [...]
